MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a 2 year post graduate management course focusing on building analytical and managerial skills in the fields of logistics and supply chain.
Managers in Logistics and Supply Chain sector are required to ensure that products and service reach the consumers who have asked for them. They manage all the operations related to the count and supply of the products that an organisation deals in.
Small organisation just need a single person to manage their logistics and supply chain whereas huge organisations have an entire department dedicated to that wing.
It is an ever growing industry, therefore it always offers good job opportunities. It also palys an important role in the economic growth and development of the nation. With the highly developed manufacturing sector of India logistics, supply chain management holds a lot of opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for MBA in LCSM course is similar to that of an MBA degree.
- The students must have completed a Bachelor's Degree course from a recognised university
- At least 50 percent aggregate marks (45 percent for ST/SC category) students are required
- Passing marks in all of the graduation subjects are essential to be eligible
- Some universities offering the course may require or prefer students with work experiance
- Universities may also specify a minimum percentage criterion for class 10th and class 12th
Admission Process
Most of the MBA in LCSM colleges in India grant admission on a merit-basis. Candidates have to qualify in an entrance exam and then go through the selection process specify by the College or University.
- Students must first appear in an MBA entrance exam accepted by their chosen college
- Based on their entrance exam marks, students fill the application form for participating colleges
- Colleges release the cutoff and students are shortlisted for the selection rounds
- Students are invited for the selection rounds in which GD/PI/WAT are conducted by individual colleges
- The final merit list is calculated based on the application, entrance exam score and performance in selection rounds.
- Private MBA colleges also have the option for direct admision under management quota
