   WHAT IS BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS?


BFA or Bachelor of Fine Arts is an undergraduate degree course which deals with the study of Visual or Performing Arts. The course is something also referred to as Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) in which the study of Visual Arts includes subject such as painting, sculpture, photography, literature, animation, etc.




On the otherside, the study of Performing Arts  include subjects such a dance, theater and music. A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree often requires an area of specialization to be chosen by the  candidates as per his/her interest.

Depending upon the candidate's chosen specialization, BFA is typically a 3-4 year duration course that can be pursued as a full time, online or distance learning programme.

A BFA course not only educates but reforms the skills of candidates to enable them become artists in their chosen field. Career opportunity for fine arts graduates are enough wherein they can choose to be an art teacher, writer, fine arts, actor, art director etc. These days many students are opting for a career in Fine Arts not only to earn high salary but also to gain popularity and prestige.BFA assists the candidates grow in the area of subject chosen. BFA ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 


All candidates who have cleared class 12th in any stream from a recognised board meet Bachelor of Fine Arts eligibility criteria. Although there is usually no other set criteria but some universities/colleges may also demand a minimum percentage(50-60%) that candidates need to secure in class 12th to get admission in BFA course.
Apart from this, preference at the time of admission is sometimes given to candidates who have studied  Arts/Humanities in class 10+2 and have some basic knowlegde of the Fine arts subject which they are looking to pursue

REQUIRED SKILLSET FOR BFA


A Fine Arts course is usually pursued by students who have an artist hidden in them. However, candidates who have a creative bent of mind and a natural intuition towars visual or performing arts are a good fit for BFA course. Basic skills that condidates looking pursue a BFA course should have are:

Sketching skills, Visualisation skills, Artistic skills, Drawing skills, imaginative skills,  communation skills, problem solving skills.
